Company Overview

PanGenetics is headquartered in Utrecht, The Netherlands and near Cambridge in the UK.  The company focuses on clinical application of monoclonal antibodies for treatment of immune mediated diseases, cancer and pain.  The company's management and advisors have several decades of combined antibody development and commercial experience and have been responsible for bringing a large number of biological products into clinical development of which five have been successfully marketed.  The company uses this expertise to select antibody products for in-licensing based on a clear therapeutic rationale, freedom to operate, and are ideally human or humanised.  The lean business model makes extensive use of Contract Research Organisations and Contract Manufacturing Organisations in Europe to support in-house operations.  PanGenetics also owns or has exclusive rights to a substantial IP portfolio.

The company is actively seeking opportunities to in-license more antibody products that address significant markets and unmet medical needs.

Investors

The company was initially financed in July 2005 by Index Ventures of Geneva, Switzerland.  The proceeds of this Series A financing allowed the company to further develop its lead program (PG102) and to attract an experienced management team led by Kevin Johnson, one of the founding team at Cambridge Antibody Technology and a Venture Partner at Index Ventures. In March of 2006, the company raised a further €13 million through a Series B round (see press releases). This round was led by ABN-AMRO Capital, with participation from Crédit Agricole Private Equity and Series A seed investor, Index Ventures.
